General

General conduct, officiating responsibilities, and score reporting rules.

  1. Everyone should encourage fair play and good sportsmanship.
  2. Be respectful to other players, referees and officials.
  3. Please vacate the sports hall promptly at the end of the session.
  4. Please make sure to accomplish your officiating duties assigning at least: the principal referee, the scorer and two line judges.
  5. The first team acting as a referee for the day should bring a copy of the scoresheet provided on the website.
  6. The officiating team is responsible to write down the score in the scoresheet provided.
  7. The winner team is responsible to submit the game score using the app once the game is finished.
  8. The last team refereeing should take a picture of the scoresheet and send it to the captains group to get a record of the scores as a backup.
  9. All the scores of the day should be recorded and submitted as per the rules before 10:30pm at the latest.
  10. IMPORTANT: Teams that fail to comply with refereeing duties, scorekeeping responsibilities, or the submission of match scores will be penalized by the deduction of 1 league point per offence.

Teams & Players

Rules about team composition, eligibility, and borrowing players.

  1. Each team must have 6 players on court all times.
  2. Each team is required to have at least 2 women on court at all times, regardless of their playing position.
  3. A team will forfeit their game should either they not have enough (female) players or they not have enough players on court (6 players), though they could still play for fun.
  4. Teams can borrow a player from another team on game day under exceptional circumstances such as injuries or illnesses.
  5. A player cannot play for more than one team, in case not following the rules, the teams where the player was playing will get 2 points deducted for each day.
  6. Libero players will be allowed to serve if it is within the regular service rotation and it is needed to comply with the other rules.

Games

Format and timing rules for matches and daily tiebreaks.

  1. 6v6 timed games - please stick to the starting and ending times on the schedule.
  2. Normal volleyball rules apply.
  3. Teams can use different lineup for each set.
  4. No limit of regular substitutions (A → B, B →A).
  5. Irregular substitutions (A → B, C →B) are not allowed.
  6. Games will consist of:
    04:00 min of warm-up
    33:00 min of game (2 sets of 16:00 min each)
    01:00 min to swap courts
  7. When the time is up, finish playing the point if a rally is in progress.
  8. If the scores are level at the end of the game time, play ONE more point to decide the winner.
  9. The tiebreaker in case teams having the same amount of points at the end of the day will be the best coefficient:
    Coefficient = Points Scored / Points Against

Finals

Qualification and tiebreak rules for finals week.

  1. The 4 teams with the best overall of Total Points at the end of the 4th week will play the Division 1 final.
  2. The teams within the 5th to the 8th best overall of Total Points at the end of the 4th week will play the Division 2 final.
  3. The teams within the 9th to the 12th best overall of Total Points at the end of the 4th week will play the Division 3 final.
  4. The teams within the 13th to the 16th best overall of Total Points at the end of the 4th week will play the Division 4 final.
  5. The tiebreaker for teams having the same amount of points at the end of the 4th week would be the times each team played Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and Division 4.
  6. If the tie persists after applying the previous criteria, then, the best coefficient will be applied:
    Coefficient = Points Scored / Points Against

Scoring - Division 1

Division Power scoring model for Division 1.

  1. Division 1 has Division Power = 4.
  2. Base result points are: Win = 2, Close Loss (within 10 points) = 1, Loss by more than 10 points = 0.
  3. League points for each game are calculated as: Base Result Points × Division Power.
  4. In Division 1 this means: Win = 8, Close Loss = 4, Loss = 0.

Scoring - Division 2

Division Power scoring model for Division 2.

  1. Division 2 has Division Power = 3.
  2. Base result points are: Win = 2, Close Loss (within 10 points) = 1, Loss by more than 10 points = 0.
  3. League points for each game are calculated as: Base Result Points × Division Power.
  4. In Division 2 this means: Win = 6, Close Loss = 3, Loss = 0.

Scoring - Division 3

  1. Division 3 has Division Power = 2.
  2. Base result points are: Win = 2, Close Loss (within 10 points) = 1, Loss by more than 10 points = 0.
  3. League points for each game are calculated as: Base Result Points × Division Power.
  4. In Division 3 this means: Win = 4, Close Loss = 2, Loss = 0.

  1. Division 4 has Division Power = 1.
  2. Base result points are: Win = 2, Close Loss (within 10 points) = 1, Loss by more than 10 points = 0.
  3. League points for each game are calculated as: Base Result Points × Division Power.
  4. In Division 4 this means: Win = 2, Close Loss = 1, Loss = 0.
